Area of Specialization: To implement Generation Engineering strategy and provide leadership for system design section. This includes planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling of the entire, the design engineering roles.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification(s):
o BSc Eng. or B Tech or other tertiary Engineering qualification (including National Higher Diploma) in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Civil, Metallurgical or Industrial Engineering.
o Additional post graduate qualification will be an advantage
OR
o Professional registration with ECSA as Professional Engineer or Technologist.

Related Experience:
o Extensive experience in engineering design, design integration and engineering management in power generation technologies for materials handling plant, low pressure services plant, chemical plant and chemistry system
o Technical and technology leadership experience
o 8 years’ related experience for BSc Eng. or B Tech
o 10 years’ related experience for National Higher Diploma

Key Responsibilities
o Provide management and leadership for system design
o Establishes design governance requirements for system design and generation engineering
o Provide System design advice to project engineering teams, portfolio engineering teams and disciplinary managers
o Establish technical capability for the system design
o Direct design work delivery in an integrated manner for the life cycle of all Eskom generating assets
o Perform general function management

Questions after the interview:

At the end of an interview there is usually an opportunity where you can ask any questions you might have. This is a great opportunity to show the interviewer that you are interested in the position as well as the company. It is a good idea to prepare a few questions before the interview – this can be done while you are doing research on the company.

Your questions should show the interviewer that you are a good candidate for the position. Try and avoid questions that are based on your personal needs and preferences, for instance:

- How much leave will I get in a year?
- Will I be considered for promotion in my first year?
- When will I get an increase?
- What time can I leave in the afternoon?
